Traveling back to the Bucaramanga area we stopped at the national park to catch a ride by cable car across the Chicamocha Canyon & River. This is the 2nd deepest canyon in world next to Grand Canyon. The river is 160 miles long, and 40 million years old. Great way to see both the Canyon and the river…which is 6,500 feet below You get on the cable car on one side and descend to the river, then it climbs up the other side of the canyon. Another awesome view to add to my memories.

We stayed one night in Bucaramanga and simply tried to recuperate from our many days of hiking 4-5 miles a day (FYI…that’s a hell of a lot for a 70 year old…just saying) by having room service and chilling at the Carlton. Looking forward to our final destination tomorrow….Cartagena.
