Although I came to Ireland a decade ago for my birthday…. I was excited when my girlfriends and I decided to explore Southern Ireland this summer.
Last stop Dublin
Leaving Belfast, and headed to our final destination of Dublin for two days, we decided to take the seaside route and go through the Morin mountains. It was a beautiful drive. It only added an hour to our trip.
Exploring Castles
The next few days flew by quickly as we moved further north …from castle to castle staying at 3 of the most beautiful. We decided to try and visit
Cliffs of Moher & Kylemoor Abbey
Packed up and moving further north, we headed for the Cliffs of Moher. These 700 ft sea cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare, Ireland.
Dromoland Ireland
Day of relaxing and rest…short coastal drive around the Skilleg peninsula…stopping at their famous chocolate factory…and admiring the beauty of the southern tip of the Ring of Kerry. Nice cozy dinner at the “house with a view” we leased, and early to bed so we could drive north to our next lodging
Happy Birthday to me!

Hujambo from Kenya, Africa
Just boarded our 2nd charter flight of this amazing adventure. For the next 2 weeks, our goal is to visit 5 Safari camps and photograph the wildlife in Kenya.
Great Rift Valley – camp #2
Our second camp…Lentorre Lodge” in the“ Olkirimatian Conservancy” in the Great Rift Valley, Magadi, Kenya
Karin Blixen camp #3
OMG!!! Not even sure how to describe the past few days in this land of “Hakina matata” …no worries. I’ll just start with a one word summary… FANTASTIC!!!
Sarara Treehouses in the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy
Located 5 degrees N of the equator in the Sarara valley on 859,000 acres, the Samburu Bush Camp is our new home for 3 nights. It’s actually 8 treehouses built above the jungle floor…

Luxor, Egypt
Arriving in Luxor on a Friday was easy…light traffic. The Muslims take Friday and Saturday as their weekend, with Saturday as their prayer day instead of Sunday.
Cairo, Egypt
jogging suits) and most women cover their hair…and some TOTALLY covered their entire body in black robes and scarfs, with their eyes being the only exception.
Quito, Ecuador
I’ve always had a preference for less developed (less touristy) countries or areas. Within a few hours of arriving in Bolivia, the differences in YHIS Latin American country were very apparent …
La Paz, Bolivia

Sucre, Bolivia
Landing about 30 miles outside the city of Sacre, in the countryside, we were very leery of what we were seeing driving into the city.
Galapogos
Just finished our 2nd day in this adventure land. Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands consists of 13 main islands, five of which are inhabited, seven minor islands, and more than 200 islets and rocks sitting 600 miles of South America’s Pacific coast.
Exploring Bolivia and the Andes Mountains
We left Sucre early this morning headed south, in search of the Silver Mine city of Potosi. During our journey, we passed by a very tiny village that was preparing for a parade to the local church.
Play day in the Salt Flats, Bolivia
Salar de Uyuni, amid the Andes in southwest Bolivia, is the world’s largest salt flat. It’s approximately 12,000 feet above sea level and is spread out like an infinite white plain.
Andes Mountains
To say the least, this two day adventure was “bumpy” and definitely left us “breathless”. We had an excellent guide and driver, but off roading for most of the day leaves you feeling rattled and exhausted…
Leaving Bolivia…moving on to Cusco, Peru
I’ve visited a lot of countries in my lifetime, but never been thru such close scrutiny as Bolivia, both arriving and leaving.
Cusco, Peru
We landed in Lima in plenty of time to change planes to Cusco. BUT, when Connie saw McDonald’s in the food court, and I saw Starbucks…
Road tripping thru the Sacred Valley, Peru
After a 3 course delicious breakfast, we grabbed our back packs and via private driver & guide set out to explore the Inca Trail and make our way to Aqua Calientes, the small town at the base of Machu Picchu mountain.
Machu Picchu ….A Must On Your Bucket List
Words can’t describe the feeling of euphoria one feels as you step thru the ancient walls on top of Machu Picchu and see this amazing immense city spread out on the top of the mountain.
Nazca Lines near Lima, Peru
We flew back to Lima… and were picked up by a private driver and guide to take us south 5 hrs… so we could see the Nazca Lines.
